Dr. Dr. Roman Egger: Artificial Intelligence in Tourism – Navigating the Digital Transformation of Travel

With over 30 years of experience in tourism, Prof. Dr. Dr. Roman Egger can look back on an impressive career. He crowned his academic career with two doctorates, in communication sciences and sociology, followed by two decades as a professor at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences.

Today, he contributes his extensive knowledge as CEO of Smartvisions and teaches and researches at the Modul University of Vienna and the IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences on forward-looking topics such as digitalisation, artificial intelligence and data science in tourism. As a recognised expert, he has written more than 150 scientific articles and is the author of 19 books. With Smartvisions, he advises international clients on big data and AI and develops innovative technical solutions in this dynamic field. His unique combination of practical experience, academic expertise and visionary thinking makes him a sought-after thought leader in the industry. Moreover, Roman Egger is co-founder of the ISCONTOUR.

Dr. Anita Zehrer: Challenges for family-run businesses in tourism

Anita Zehrer holds the position of Professor and serves as the Head of the Family Business Center at MCI The Entrepreneurial School ®. Concurrently, she also assumes the role of Head of Research in the domain of Management and Society within the institution.

Her scholarly pursuits are characterized by a breadth of research interests, with a primary emphasis on the landscape of family business management and entrepreneurial behavior in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). The scholarly impact of Dr. Zehrer’s work is evidenced by publications in leading business management and tourism journals.
